Boston College women’s basketball player Veronica Wilson, a sophomore from Pickering, Ohio, visits with students from the Winthrop Elementary School in Dorchester. Wilson and her teammates visited the school to talk about how they prepared to go to college as part of a program organized by the Step UP Initiative, which partners Boston College and four other universities with 10 Boston Public Schools. BC’s Lynch School of Education coordinates Step UP projects at the Winthrop and Russell elementary schools.
